Its the most wonderful time of the year

So I know its a Christmas song but fall is really the most wonderful time of the year to me. I love everything about it. The weather is nice, football is great and decorating is the best!
I teach middle school but for some strange reason we have homecoming in my county in middle school. I'm not complaining because I love spirit week but I do find middle school homecoming odd. Anyways, I always offer extra credit for dressing up for spirit week. You get one point for each day you dress up. Well, after I had announced this opportunity along comes a competition. I LOVE competitions and I plan to win every one so yay I was excited! The competition was for the teacher with the highest percentage of participation by homerooom in spirit week would win. So I thought YES! I've got this in the bag. So here is what I won ... dancing the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" dance in a banana suit during the pep rally. Enjoy the pictures!

Tacky Day ... Dawson was the only one who looked as tacky as I did

So today we got a pumpkin for our house. I was really excited to dress McKenzie up for church in her cute Halloween outfit Aunt Ashley bought her and take her to the pumpkin patch!

So I did a great job this year with the outside of the house. I made things on my own and I feel really creative for the 1st time EVER. Here is my house... enjoy!

Floods

As most of you know it flooded up here this past week. It rained from Wednesday to Monday causing a lot of flooding. Our house is perfectly fine, so we praise God for that! Also, school was cancelled Monday through Wednesday so I got to stay home and hang out with my favorite people! Thursday and today I had to go back to work but there were no students. Monday should be all back to normal. McKenzie has been fussy with the rain, teething and bathroom issues. She didn't smile much but here are some pictures from the past week!

Nole Girl - she really enjoyed that stomping that the Noles put on BYU!!!!

Flood ... this is just a few miles from the house

Hanging out with the cutest baby ever

Tuesdays

Tuesdays are the best days of the week. That is mine and Jason's date night. Each Tuesday we go somewhere to eat and then come home and watch CSI. Usually our friend Mel watches Kenzie but yesterday Kenzie came with us! We ate at Ruby Tuesday because we had a buy one grt one free coupon. Then we came back and played horseshoes. I beat Jason!!! He was throwing with his left hand but I still beat him!!! Anyways ... here are some pictures of my loves.
McKenzie in the high chair - notice the FSU cover
The waitress gave us crayons and paper for her ... she tried to eat both
So cute
Jason really likes to take different pictures .... so this one is through our glasses of water

Ramblings for a Monday

Yay its Monday! I know that sounds wierd but I really like working so I'm excited about Mondays! My students are great and now I'm down to about 25 -30 in a class as opposed to the 37 I had on Wednesday. I just love seeing them and learning all about them. That being said, it was really hard to get up this morning. It seems the last few work days its been rainy in the mornings and you know how hard it is to get up then.

Softball starts this week for Jason. There are 2 Hope Church teams this season, so we'll pretty much live at the ballpark. Its really cool because the team thats in the open league is Jason's "ministry". He wants to witness to the other teams that church doesn't have to be all Geeks. Last spring they played in that league and came in tied for 3rd. Maybe this year we'll get some people to come to church and they'll do better. I love my husband!

I also love my McKenzie. Though I love teaching I can't wait to come home and see this precious face smiling at me.

Isn't she cute in her jeans and polo shoes?

Oh How I Love My Family

Sundays are a favorite day for me because it is a day I can spend with my wonderful family. Today we all got spiffy for church so I had to take a picture of the ones I love. McKenzie looked so cute I did a mini photo shoot with her ... she's not sitting up, the boppy is under her. Enjoy!

Back to School

This week was the first week of the 2009-2010 school year. This year there have been a lot of changes to Austin Middle School. We have a new principal, whom I love! He prayed for the faculty at the 1st meeting. He's also a lot more involved than our former principal was. I have 2 new teachers on my team and I really like them as well. Lastly my classes have been HUGE. Monday I had 39 kids in my 4th period class. I'm down to 28 in 1st and 2nd and 35 in 3rd and 4th. Good news is we are getting 2 6th grade teachers so next week my numbers should be smaller. Here are some pictures of my classroom ... the theme this year was flying quotes!
