Valentines Day

I'm not a big fan of Valentines Day but I do have to say it is much better as a mom. I got to dress Kenzie up all cute and sent her to Ms. Stacey's with some Mickey Mouse Valentines for her little friends. When we got home this afternoon Kenzie saw what Nana and Papa got her, Mommy and Daddy got her and the cards from Great Grandma and Great Grandpa McCormick and PawPaw and MawMaw. Then Kenzie watched "The Princess and the Frog" and we ate homemade spinach and pepperoni pizza. While we eat we have the 90s music channel on and after Kenzie was done she and I danced to Shania Twain's "From this Moment On". Jason came out and danced some more with us. It was so much fun! Here are some pics from the day!

Watch Belle, Beast

The title of my post has to do with what I hear everyday from the time McKenzie gets up until she goes to bed. McKenzie LOVES the Disney Princesses, especially Belle. We're even planning a Princess Party for Kenzie's 2nd birthday (2 months away). I have a few videos so you can see how happy she gets and how she dances like a princess.

That is pretty much my life right now. I love both of them so much!

One Hand, One Heart

Saturday night was my birthday celebration. Jason and I went to see West Side Story at the Fox. It was a great show! I hated it 13 years ago when I saw it with Kim and Krys. Its so depressing, but that is why Romeo and Juliette is a tragedy. I learned to love it later though. The song "One Hand, One Heart" was the song Kim sang when Jason and I lit the unity candle. I cried at that part in the play. Jason didn't love West Side Story as much as I did but he did like seeing me happy. It was a great birthday!

Birthday Wishes

I have less than a month before my 28th birthday! I can't believe it! I LOVE birthdays. Its the only day that is all about me. I know that sounds selfish but I think it is important to have a day where its all about you. I know my birthday present from Jason is to go see West Side Story at the Fox tomorrow but here are a list of things I would love if we had money to blow.
1. A Spa Day
I'd love a day to go get a facial, pedicure, manicure and massage.

2. The Footbath thing that takes out the toxins
This is like a guilty pleasure for me. I saw an ad for it at the chiropractors office and it costs like $200 for 10 treatments. You put your feet in this bath like when you get a pedi but whatever is in it takes the otxins out of your body. It looks gross but I think it would be so cool!

3. More Madeline L'Engle books
I got 6 for Christmas. I'd like Meet the Austins, Moon by Night, Young Unicorns, Arm of the Starfish and so many more ... she's such a great author.

4. A new camera
I lost mine before Christmas (at the mall when we went to see Santa) but I have a replacement one now. Its good - I'd love a really good one with fast speed because McKenzie does not stay still

5. To go rollerskating
Yeah I'm totally a middle schooler but I want to go rollerskating so bad. I can't wait until McKenzie is old enough for rollerskating parties - that's all we'll have!!!

6. To go to NYC and see Rock of Ages
I am obsessed with this show. Its all 80s hair band songs like "Don't Stop (believin)" "We're not Gonna Take It" and "Livin on a Prayer". How could I not like it! The touring company hasn't made it to ATL yet but if/when it does Ashley and I are going to have to go. Jason doesn't appreciate the 80s music - I am working on him though!

There are more - these are just the top of my list. I know I won't get these things this year but maybe in the future.

I am extremely excited about tomorrow night. Last year we went to see South Pacific and Jason didn't care for it too much. I'm hoping this year he'll like West Side Story - then maybe one day we can go see a show on Broadway

Tale As Old As Time ...

My Christmas present from Ashley was to go see Beauty and the Beast at the Fox last weekend. I was all worried she wouldn't get here because of the snow/ice we've had but Ash made it in fine. I was off Friday so we got to hang out. McKenzie really love AhE being here. She didn't want to go to sleep Friday night because she thought Ashley was leaving in the morning. Saturday was the play and it was AMAZING! We had awesome seats! I love m sister so much. It makes me wish we lived closer so that I could hang out with her on a regular basis. Sunday Ash worked in the nursery with me and then we hung out until she had to leave. Unfortunatly Ashley lost her cell phone in the airport but we're praying someone turned it in. She was quite upset about all her pictures being gone. Speaking of pictures here are some from the weekend.

McKenzie ran in for this picture with us ... she's so stinkin cute!

Tomorrow I go back to work for the 1st time since Friday the 7th. There is still a majority of my yard covered in snow. Hopefully that was the last of snow for a while (I'm not holding my breath though).

Jason and I are taking Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University through our church. So far I'm really liking it. Our goal is to be debt free so that we can pay cash for me to start my masters by 2014. If I start by then I will be grandfathered in to recieve higher pay for my degree. Its going to take a lot of discipline but I am hoping we can do it. I want McKenzie and whatever future children I have to be able to go to college without having to get a loan and be in debt. I want to be able to go on nice vacations when I have children old enough to appreciate them. I want to be able to by my next vehicle (probably a bigger SUV) in cash. I'll let you know how it goes for us as we start paying things off!

Wee Bit Wednesday

So I am going stir crazy in this house with so much snow so I've decided to do a Wee Bit Wednesday. Enjoy!

{one} have you ever been on tv?
Yes, plenty of times. I was in a commerical for my PawPaws car lot when I was 5. I said "even we got station wagons too". I was on the news a couple of times in random Mardi Gras parades. I was the P in PHS one year and we were on prep football final. I've been in the FSU crowd a ton of times!

{two} what was the best movie you saw last year?
Humm.... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Toy Story 3 and Robin Hood were also amazing.

{three} do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
In!

{four} do you cut coupons?
Yes, but I am not a crazy couponer yet. I do usually save at least $20 every time I go.

{five} do you ever count your steps when you walk?
No
{six} what sauce do you dip your chicken nuggets in?
Honey, not honey mustard but plain honey

{seven} do you have any magazine subscriptions?
No but I always think I should get Shape because its the one I get every month

{eight} when was the last time you wrote a letter on paper?
Probably November

{nine} what’s your favorite fruit pie?
Apple because its the only fruit pie I've ever eaten

{ten} black olives or green olives?
Both!
